Oil Infusions

Oil Infusions

Typically, when discussing oil infusion, it involves soaking plant matter in a carrier oil through either a hot or cold infusion process.

Cold infusions, our preferred method at Magaline Collections, can take two or more weeks to fully extract the oils and flavors from the botanicals. We prefer a minimum infusion period of four weeks, during which the botanicals are placed in a sanitized glass jar and covered with carrier oil. After the infusion period at room temperature, the plant matter is strained out, resulting in a jar of infused oil.

Another method, hot process infusions, involves heating the ingredients to expedite the extraction of aromatic oils. Typically done using a double boiler, this method yields infused oil ready for immediate use.

Infusing essential oils into carrier oils offers numerous benefits. Essential oils possess therapeutic properties like anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and calming effects, while carrier oils are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids that nourish and hydrate the skin. Together, they can soothe irritated skin, promote cell regeneration, and enhance overall skin health.

We hope you find this information beneficial and will consider adding our infused body and massage oils to your personal skincare regimens.
